This is a list of general information and the latest news. Some of that news relates to Friends of Durras while the rest is more general South Coast information.

• Marine Park Declared. Batemans Marine Park was declared on 5 April 2006. Government consultation with the community over zoning details has been underway since last year and will continue over the next few months. This link will take you to the notice of proclamation in the NSW Government Gazette. The link is currently a large PDF (1.8Mb) so may take some time to download. The Proclamation is on page 149-50.
• The FoD Submission on the Marine Park.

• The Marine Parks Authority have published a number of relevent press releases and position papers and studies. They can be found on their website.
• New Development Proposal for the South Coast.
• Some issues just don't seem to go away. Eden wood chip mill is still turning trees into chips and environmental groups up and down the coast combined for a rally in July. Read the CoastWatchers call to (peaceful) arms.
• Michael Jarman, the Shorebird Recovery Coordinator for the South Coast has released a comprehensive newletter on Shorebirds and related volunteer activities. The Friends of Durras featured in the form of the indefatigable John Perkins. Sadly, the local Shorebirds could not be as well monitored this year.
